Good sleep habits

In our society, we encounter many problems related to poor sleep habits. Most of us stay up late and get up early. We disrupt our sleep with drugs, chemicals, work and we overstimulate ourselves with late-night activities like watching television.

Numerous studies have proven that sleep is essential to our ability to function. It influences mood, metabolism and judgment — just to name a few.

Check out these essential habits to help get a good night's sleep:

  • Set a good sleeping schedule
  • Limit napping during the day
  • Avoid alcohol 4 to 6 hours before bedtime
  • Avoid caffeine 4 to 6 hours before bedtime
  • Exercise regularly, but not right before bed
